About the Event
The Clarksville Association for Down syndrome and City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation have partnered together again. The event last year was a huge success with over 60 vendors participating in the expo and over 1,000 walkers walking to make a difference. This community event is for our special citizens and their families to aid in bringing awareness and resources to them.
The Community CARES event and our organization receive no government funds. The objective of Community CARES is to provide awareness to our special citizens and the community about health, wellness, safety, education and much more.
One element of the event will be a pledge walk around the pond at Liberty Park. The event will provide opportunities for area businesses to market the specific services they offer to Special Citizens and their families plus the general public.
As you may be aware, the Clarksville Association for Down syndrome (CADS) is a non-profit organization and has been providing support to local families since 2009. The primary source of funding for CADS is from corporate sponsors. Community CARES helps enable us to bring a multitude of programs to our community and the surrounding area. The funds provided by this event will give us the ability to continue to spread our mission.
