Totes for Teaching

An outreach program for parents or parents-to-be to receive a tote with information and up-to-date resources regarding Down syndrome so their experience is a positive one.

Technology for Teachers

A program implemented into the school system where CADS will provide needed technology so Special Citizens can overcome issues with learning. Year to date, CADS has awarded 167 IPads to Special Education Classrooms in Montgomery and the other 8 counties we serve. Full-time Special Education Teachers within the 9 counties we serve are eligible to apply for the grant during open registration once per calendar year. The grants are scored by a third party representative using a rubric. To apply or check for open registration please see the Technology for Teachers (T4T) tab.

Making Memories Program

Families with a Down syndrome member sometimes face financial hardships. CADS will facilitate an annual trip for up to 15 families to participate in a special needs camp weekend at Camp for Courageous Kids (CCK) in Scottsville, KY. Applications are now open at, for camp dates November 3-5, 2017.

Free Four-Week Programs Offered

CADS is now offering four-week programs for all special needs individuals. We are partnering with Clarksville Parks and Recreation at the local Crow Community Center on Warfield Blvd. There will be a variety of programs offered. Check the calendar for updated schedule. Fundraising events:

Community CARES – (Community Advocating Resources for Every Special citizen) This is an annual event at Liberty Park and is a Walk & Expo. Our goal is to bring awareness of health, wellness, safety and fun to the community.

Dollars for Downs – A program to be implemented in local businesses where they sell paper ribbons and a $1 donation goes to the CADS mission
